It's a good news that the time is on for people intending to go to United States of America to get ready.

this is a free service but people are hitting big cash with it. this pains me as I'm here to show you how to apply online yourself without paying anybody any dime.

There are some things you must have before you can apply:

2. a 600*600 sized passport ( I'll show you how to do this)
3. a mailing address,
4. etc.

Let's get going.
visit http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ ,
you can take care to read all the stuff you see there, no problems.
click on "Begin Standard Entry" or "Begin SSL Entry" as the case may be.
assumuing you clicked on Begin Standard Entry, the web page-http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/application.aspx will appear. fill in the correct information and click on "continue".
continue the process and voila! you have applied.

The big problem for some people:
Resizing of your passport.

1. Make sure you do not put on anything like ear-rings, necklace, etc. in your passport.
2. To resize your passport, right-click on it and click on "edit"
it opens the PAINT window. click on "image" and click on "attribute".
type in 600 in the width and length.
save the passport and upload it to the form, you are done.
it brings a page, bearing your confirmation number, full name and year of birth. i will advice you to print this form and also store it in your mail box because you will surely need it later.
NB: as a Nigerian, your Postal Code/Zip Code should be 300001
